SOMATIC DIALOGUE
with Berrak Yedek
"When we work with ourselves we do not grow, or develop, or progress and get better and better… we just get closer to ourselves…
really near and intimate until we can feel and see ourselves with acceptance and love.
Everything that we need is inside of us… "
Somatic Dialogue is a gentle practice of body and mind in movement. It uses a soft and mindful approach to the body and enables the mind to accompany the body in a loving way, and be nourished by it. Through guided dance improvisations and hands-on techniques, the participants can enter into an intimate dialogue with themselves and with the world surrounding them.
This practice opens a space in us, where we can enter into a deep listening, discover our inner universe, and get closer to our physical, emotional, sensual and poetic selves.

What other faciliotators say about Somatic Dialogue?
PEDRO PRAZERES (Portugal)
More than a method, it’s a philosophy, a process, an art of living, a devotion.
Through dance, pleasure, joy and dedication, it takes you there, to the bone, to the spiritual, to the depth under the surface.
It’s something you care for daily. It’s the space in between that needs to be nourished and exercised. Something in constant evolution that only exists if you put loving energy into it.
It’s the Hug that embraces you and can allow Liberation.
LINA SJÖDIN (Sweden):
Somatic Dialogues aims not to push the client into a certain state. It aims to give the time, space and environment to allow the client to be, and in his/her own time find the trust and motivation to meet him/herself and tune into the body and its need to feel well and be nourished. By being in the Soft, Slow and Small, we can gently create a relationship with the material body and step by step access the invisible parts of our body and feel ourselves. The aim is Muhabbet. A conversation where love flows.
KATRIN KÖHLER (Germany)
Somatic dialogue is a dialogue between me and myself or me and another person/being with a holistic approach.
It works with movement- and dance improvisation, exploring the connection of the various inner structures as well as with the floor and the space.
It is holistic because it involves the body, the breathing, the mind and our emotions.
BUSE CETIN (Turkey)
Somatic Dialogue is a movement technique that uses the body as a channel for the experiences beyond the body. It is based on simple exercises connecting you to your body and spine. Through this connection you connect to other bodies and spines.
Somatic Dialogue uses dance as a non-performative means, here you don’t need to perform anymore, but you have to be close and honest to yourself, to the moment and to your movement partner. If you lie in the movement, you will immediately feel the disconnection, and “togetherness” will not happen. That is why Somatic Dialogue is clear and creates a space where you cannot run away. It is pure togetherness.
TOMAŠ JANYPKA (Slovakia)
The main purpose is to get to know your body better through dance. The cultivation of conscious movement develops a dialogue with oneself and opens up possibilities to work not only on the physical level but also on the nervous, sensual, emotional and memory levels.
Its activity opens up space for calming, listening, observing and relaxing. From this place you can create your own authentic dance, where there is no need to prove anything, just have time for yourself.
No dance experience is necessary, you just need to have the desire or even just a good frustration to change something. Then just have the courage to move from passivity to activity - action - work - discovery - fullness.
