Ideas finding their places somewhere inside

It is 10:21 and today I am starting a bit earlier than usual to write my blog. One of the reasons for this is that I have work to do, that is I am writing the book of course but I also have some consultations and mentoring sessions today. And most of all also this evening we are again meeting online to dance our prayers for Health, Love and Peace. However I have been to the forest of course, and in the past week I have had magnificent moments, where the light and the forest spirit caressed my soul.

Today's blog is going to be a little messy as my thoughts hop from one place to the other. But I cannot always write something serious, right? We can never be always too serious, at least I feel we shouldn’t. I must admit that this is my 20th episode. I never thought I would come this far, especially when all of you dear readers are so silent, and are not yet engaging in a dialogue with me. But I can only respect that. :) you know that there is a comment section at the end, and you could maybe share your thoughts, reactions or inspirations there :) 

Well, then, I will start with sharing an album that I am listening to right now. I haven’t been sharing much music lately. LUNA by Pascal Schumacher and here it is:


A little invitation
I find his music very reflective, interesting and with a lot of space in it for movement. Curiously it is also music that is inviting me to go inside, into the sensations of my body but also into my thoughts that interact with these sensations. It liberates abstract images in my imagination. And I love letting myself go to this album. It also touches various strong emotions in me which give space to a variety of moods. 

Try it: just make space around you and in your schedule, lie down and listen to this music, and simply let your body react, not pushing it to anywhere, but staying close to the sensations of your body. Once you have found the connection with your movements, listen to your imagination, let the music produce its images inside your mind and let the mind dance with your body.

The Path 
The concept of the path in Somatic  Dialogue is so present. I feel that walking the paths and making them more accessible is a metaphor we use a lot. Through the repetition of the movements we actually open the paths of the movement in our body. We also open the path through which the mind can accompany the flow of the movement. It is not only a repetition that we do, but a rediscovery of the action again and again, while being accompanied: if alone, then accompanied by our mind and presence, i.e., the mind accompanying the body. And if we are with a facilitator, we are accompanied by the listening presence of the facilitator, so that we feel safe to repeat and repeat ourselves until we are satisfied. This can be a very therapeutic experience.

After so many years of walking various paths in the field of Somatic Dialogue, I have dedicated myself to opening the paths I walk on. In each cycle, on each journey I discover something new and I also have the pleasure of finding again the familiar aspects of the work. Like meeting old friends. Something that brings reconciliation, satisfaction and a feeling of saturation with each action. It is like experiencing for a moment the bliss of just being in the present moment.

Why is this so important?
I think and know from experience that the dedication towards the being, the discipline of working mindfully with oneself and discovering the body in motion is not only in order to have harmony, or feel the grace of movement. When we arrive at the point that we feel the grace in our own body, or have a harmonious relationship with the environment that we live in, we can be sure that we are very lucky. But also it builds up inner strength, and helps us to understand how we can transfer these experiences from the body to the outside world. It shapes our way of thinking. Going mindfully into the body also creates the paths of thinking. We naturally take more time to listen, to hear better, and to reflect. And hopefully find the paths leading from our resources to our actions.

Finding a healthy existence in a difficult world
The world we live in (today, but also in the past it must have been not very different) is a difficult one. We are constantly bombarded with images, with information, with videos and with a crazy flow of stimuli that prevent us from going really inside of us and finding these resources. The screens have become the platform where life happens, and everything in the “reality” of the society adjusts and moves accordingly. People are going viral, sending each and every moment of their lives onto the net, exchanging, hearing about the news…and mostly without having the impulse of checking out the sources of this information. Even if we are conscious of this madness of the screens, we cannot leave it. It has reached a status of dependence.

Today’s flow of information pushes the human mind more and more into new belief systems without us being even aware of it. In this tumult of stimuli, plus with all the atrocities happening in the countries that are at war, the energy of war, reaction, hypocrisy, injustice, anger, frustration, horror, sadness and helplessness a kind of entity is being shaped, which takes some space in our everyday life.

Therefore it is precious to be able to stop in this crazy flow, and return to the body, to its time and space, and to simplify our actions. To feel the ground, to become conscious of how we breathe. To be able to rely on the ground and gravity, and also to let the movements retrace the paths, and calm down our frenetic thoughts to make our presence jump from one mood to the other, from one emotion to the other.

Serenity
In nature serenity happens, or exists at certain moments. It just is. 
In our lives, because we have the mind and the reason, serenity is something that we couple with action, ideas, emotions and meaning. It is something that we need to create, and must work hard for (in some cases). As conscious human beings we seek for serenity, and we feel we need to have it in our lives. This process of trying to create it brings us to a serene feeling for some time and then the course of life takes over.

It is a choice, a very conscious choice to learn how to be serene. It actually happens by consciously practicing non-action alternating conscious action. And when we find the ways, the paths to serenity, or moments of serenity, we experience bliss…

I have now stopped for a while and just allowed myself to sink into my thoughts and sensations of my body. And I heard the birds chirping. I really think that when we listen consciously, and practice listening better, we can hear more. We hear more frequencies and also silences, and we find more meaningful moments. 

And this little stop also reminded me how I started today’s blog: that I will not be serious today??? Oh my! well I think I couldn’t help myself again and went into serious grounds again. Forgive me dear reader, I think today you witnessed the complexity of my mind and mess that is created by my emotions.

The music has stopped now. And having warmed up with typing, I realize that the path from my mind to my fingers is open today, therefore I will stop the blog and continue writing the book for now.

Leaving you with a couple of images to reflect on, or just to contemplate… Maybe they will slow you down today and give you a space to be intimate with yourself and your thoughts. They sure did catch my attention and I stayed with them in the encounter that morning on my path.
